What are the Soccer Player Intelligence courses?
The “Soccer Player Intelligence” courses are a great tool to help you gain a deeper understanding of the logic of soccer, which will help you make smart and efficient decisions, while enjoying every moment on the field!
You need to make decisions on and off the ball the entire time you are playing.
These decisions are based on the knowledge that you have regarding the logic of the game of soccer, the model of play of your team, and many different sources of information.
“Soccer Player Intelligence” courses will greatly improve your decision-making since they will boost both your knowledge of the game, as well as your capacity to acquire and process information.
The course was developed taking advantage of many technological tools while structured in a pedagogical order aiming to facilitate mastering of the content.
Age is only one factor, but, as a reference, an 11-year-old who loves soccer will likely be able to be engaged and complete module 1.
Knowledge
Our courses will help you to greatly increase your knowledge of the game, with a combination of giving you knowledge, and helping you to reflect upon the logic of the game.
We will cover from basic concepts, principles, individual and group tactics, to complex and advanced information, progressing in a logical order.
Gather Information: space awareness
Even if you are skillful, fast, strong, and understand the game, you need to gather information and make good decisions.
Our courses will help you to develop your capacity to obtain inform. It goes much beyond learning to “look over your Sholders”.
We will also present to you, and help you improve, the biggest challenges to gathering information.
Decision Making
The more your knowledge of the game, and the better is your process of collecting information, the better and quicker your decisions will be.
The courses help you to improve your decision making, challenging you to reflect and learn about a variety of scenarios.
Execusion
You have got the knowledge, you gathered the information, you made your decision. Now you need to execute it.
Decision happens the entire time during a match. On and off the ball..

How to use it?
Players
Ideally, a player should try to complete the module following the sequence from start to finish. The player can progress at his/her own pace. Each module is divided into sections and each section into lessons. Most lessons are 5 to 10 minutes long.
The player can access or revisit the content at will, including when his/her team works on a similar topic. It will be a great resource for the player during practices and games, giving a unique and deeper perspective and insight into the topic.
The course will very likely go into more detail than what would be covered at practice.
Most lessons provide the player with multiple scenarios, relating visual cues and options to help players develop their knowledge.
Coaches/Clubs

Coaches and clubs can use the course in a variety of ways
Building a periodization: Coaches or clubs can use the progressions of the courses as ways to organize part of their curriculum.
They can be an add-on to any curriculum since the courses were not developed for a specific module of play, style, or identity. Instead, they focus on the comprehensive logic of the game of soccer.
Content resource for coaches: For example, a coach wants to work a 3v2s elaborating from the very basic concept of finding the free player to more advanced concepts like an offensive delay to optimize the numerical advantage. The coaches can get many ideas and concepts from the course and apply them.
Additional teaching tool for players: This would be the ideal way to use the courses (when all the players have access). The coach can assign 10-15 minutes of homework for the players to watch some specific lessons matching what the team will be working on at practice. The players can then be asked to come to practice prepared to explain/perform some options (from the content).
According to the age/level of the players, coaches can go a step further and ask players to explain the reasoning for their choices. (🡪 the goal of the course is as much to give knowledge as it is for boosting a player’s desire to explore solutions and problem solve).
How it Works?
“Soccer Player Intelligence” courses are divided in 3 online modules (only module 1 is currently available).
Each module is a sequence of lessons organized by topic into a logical progression, including presentations using videos, text, computer animations, quizzes, and other resources.
The goals are to increase your knowledge and capacity to obtain information, which will improve your decision-making, giving you the confidence of an expert in the game of soccer.
The content can be helpful for players of all ages and levels, including HS, college, and pro, as well as parents and coaches. It will cover aspects of the game not normally addressed by most coaches or soccer methodologies.
